Corrections Policy
How errors are reported, assessed and corrected — publicly, promptly and with a note on the page. Tips are corrected by appended note, never by deletion.

Why this page exists
A site that publishes verified facts must also publish how it deals with the ones it gets wrong. This page is the procedure.
Reporting an error
Report via the contact page. Useful details:
- The page address.
- The exact claim you believe is wrong.
- What you believe the correct information is.
- A source, if you have one.
What happens next
| Step | Target time | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Acknowledge | Within one working day | Confirm receipt and give a reference |
| Assess | Depends on severity (below) | Check the claim against our register and the reported source |
| Correct or respond | Race data: within two working days; same day in Festival week. Other content: as soon as verified | Publish the correction, or explain why the original stands |
| Record | On correction | Note on the page; material corrections added to the changelog |
Severity
| Level | Examples | Handling |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Wrong result, wrong winner, wrong price on a tip, wrong date for the Festival | Corrected as a priority; changelog entry; fact-check status reviewed |
| Significant | Wrong total in a record, wrong distance, wrong trainer or jockey | Corrected promptly; note on page |
| Minor | Typos, formatting, broken links, style | Corrected without a note unless meaning was affected |
How corrections are shown
- Articles: a dated correction note at the top or foot of the article describing what changed. The "updated" timestamp changes; the "published" timestamp does not.
- Tips: the original tip is never deleted or edited. A dated note is appended stating the correction — for example a wrong recorded price — and the settlement is recomputed if necessary, with both the original and corrected figures visible. See how our tips work.
- Results and records: the database row is corrected and its source updated; pages rendering the data update automatically and a changelog entry is made.
- Disputed claims: where a challenge cannot be resolved because sources conflict, the article's fact-check status is set to disputed and the dispute is described on the page until resolved.

Errors in the assistant's answers are reported the same way. We identify the retrieved record or article that led to the error, correct it, and where the fault lay in how the assistant used the data, adjust its retrieval rules. See the AI policy.
What we will not do
- Quietly edit a page to remove an error without a note.
- Delete a tip, an article or a result to hide a mistake.
- Leave a challenged claim standing as "verified" while it is under investigation.
