Tip transparency

How Our Tips Work

Every tip is published with the price at the time, timestamped, settled from official results and kept forever — winners and losers alike. This page explains the record and how to read it.

What a tip is on this site

A tip is a published opinion that a horse represents value at a stated price, at a stated time. It is not a guarantee, a prediction of certainty or financial advice. What makes it useful is that it is recorded, settled and kept.

What every tip records

FieldWhat it holds
SelectionThe horse, the race and the Festival edition
TypeWin, each-way, place or lay
Price at publicationThe price generally available when published, with the time it was seen
Place terms (each-way tips)The fraction and number of places at the time of publication
PublishedUK date and time
AuthorThe editorial desk, or a named contributor with a public record
ReasoningWhy — with the data used linked
StatusOpen, won, placed, lost, void or non-runner
SettlementPoints profit or loss to level stakes, computed from the official result

Statuses

StatusMeaning
OpenThe race has not yet been run
WonThe selection won
PlacedAn each-way or place tip whose selection placed but did not win
LostThe selection neither won nor (where relevant) placed
VoidThe bet would have been refunded — for example a non-runner under day-of-race or NRNB terms
Non-runnerThe selection did not run; settled as void or, for an ante-post tip without NRNB, as lost

Settlement rules

  1. Official result governs. Tips are settled on the official result as recorded in our results database, which cites its source. Amended results are applied with a note.
  2. Price at publication. Settlement uses the recorded price, not a later, better or worse one. Best Odds Guaranteed is not assumed.
  3. Level stakes. Win tips are one point; each-way tips are one point each way (two points total); place tips one point; lay tips one point liability at the recorded price. Results are shown as points profit or loss, and cumulatively.
  4. Rule 4. Where a withdrawal triggered a deduction under the standard scale, it is applied to the settlement and noted.
  5. Ante-post tips are labelled as such at publication, state whether NRNB applied, and are settled accordingly. See the ante-post guide.

Never deleted

Tips are not deleted, unpublished or edited after publication. If a tip contained an error — a wrong price, a wrong race — a correction is appended as a dated note and the original stays visible. See the corrections policy.

How to read the record

  • Judge a record over a meaningful number of tips, not a week.
  • Level-stakes profit is one measure; strike rate is another; both are shown.
  • A strong record does not predict the next tip. Variance is large in horse racing and in Festival week especially — three of the fifteen verified 2026 results went to horses at 33/1 or bigger.
  • Compare the recorded price with what you can actually get; a tip at 8/1 is a different proposition at 5/1.

What tips are not

They are not a staking plan, a system or a promise. Stake only what you can afford to lose. This site is for adults aged 18 and over; support is available at BeGambleAware.org, GamCare and GamStop — see responsible gambling.
